Reach Out Speak Up Run 2024

Fran Hurndall is a young woman undertaking a courageous and extraordinary journey. Beginning in September 2024, Fran will be attempting to run from Perth to Sydney for her initiative – Reach Out Speak Up to raise awareness about domestic and family violence and raise $1 million in the process for charities such as RizeUp Australia and Share the Dignity.

Testing the boundaries of human endurance, former professional athlete Fran will be aiming to cover approximately 3,800 km in just 34 days accompanied by a dedicated support team. She will be aiming to break the current world record run from Perth to Sydney by five days, currently held by Chris Turnbull at 39 days in 2023, to become the fastest person to ever cross the country across three states. She will be the first woman in history to attempt this feat in under 40 days.

Fran’s objectives

Raise $1 million to support leading charities such as RizeUp Australia whose mission is to drive awareness of domestic and family violence within society by generating life-changing, practical support for families affected, plus others such as Share the Dignity who support at-risk women suffering domestic violence, homelessness and poverty by supplying period products.

Raise awareness about the issue and prevalence of domestic violence in Australia.

Encourage those in domestic violence situations to reach out for help.

Set a new world record for the fastest run from Perth to Sydney by completing it in 34 days with the aim of becoming the fastest woman to run the distance in under 40 days.

Inspire individuals to believe in themselves, promote empowerment, and encourage positive change.
